MANNA PRO: Grain Removal & Equipment Decommissioning

One of the more unique projects we have pursued in recent memory, this future adaptive re-use of a grain storage facility in Chamblee, GA was almost completely full of grain when the developers purchased it. We were able to give away a portion of the feed to some local farmers, but the bulk of the material was spoiled and had to be landfilled. One of the more challenging aspects of the project was cleaning the silos after the grain was removed in Vac Trucks dumped and reloaded into dump trailers for disposal. There was also a significant rodent challenge due to the ample food source present. A lot of exploratory demo and removal of grain systems was performed to help get the space in a condition that allowed tours for brokers etc. This definitely does not fall into our typical project category, but our team has the confined space and environmental remediation training needed to take on a myriad of challenges.
